Brides love slideshows of their wedding photographs....
Are you a wedding photographer who would like to offer your clients a slideshow of the images you have created for them…but are short on the time it takes to put the show together? If so, consider having the work outsourced to me. I offer a quality product at reasonable prices with quick turnaround and a proven track record in pleasing clients.
You or your client select your (their) favorite images from the wedding and send to me. Most will burn the files to a disc and mail, but they can also be sent attached to email.
Pricing is $1 per photo (electronic images ready to go and numbered in the order to wish them to appear)
Music: Many say that the music background plays an important role in the emotional impact of the work. However, the use of copyrighted songs presents some problems. Most copyright holders do not mind if an individual uses their song for a personal project to be seen by a small number of friends and family. But, with the popularity of social media including YouTube and facebook, audiences can grow beyond “a small number”.
I make available a couple of songs that were purchased “with rights” for use in this type of project and sample them in the slideshow demo you can watch. Some photographers wish to select (or allow their clients to select) the music for the slideshow. I will use whatever music you supply (either on disc or attached to email) with the understanding that any discussions that come up about copyright issues are between you and the holder of the copyright.
Timing: I would recommend you do some simple math when deciding how much music you need for the photographs. You can expect each photo to be on the screen for 4-5 seconds. Multiply these times by the number of photos to be included and you have the approximate number of seconds needed to fill. Divide by 60 to get the minutes and then compare to the song(s) length. For example, you are using 100 photos for 4 sec each. That would be 6 min 40 sec…which would be approximately 2 songs needed.
Under the hood: Photographs of extremely high resolution do not show well in a video environment. For best results, you should re-size to approx. 1800 x 1350 @ 72 dpi, giving a file size of 2-5 MB ea…and remember, video is a horizontal medium…vertical shots fit the screen in a different way than landscape. The sample slideshow shown below is in 4:3 aspect ratio, similar to that of most still photographs. If you prefer widescreen (16:9), that can be done if you request.
Deliverable: In today’s world, most clients want their finished product to be in a YouTube-friendly digital format, which can be sent to you electronically. If you or your client prefer, the slideshow can be burned to a DVD, with the following additional charges:
Burn program to DVD (White printable that you can personalize)………….$5ea
Burn program to DVD (White printable with text or photo)…………………$7ea (Photo taken from those supplied, text furnished by you)
Postage and handling for either……………………………………………$3.50
Turnaround time is usually within 7-10 days.
